Walter Peak Horse Trek, Queenstown
Excursion Includes: A return scenic cruise from Queenstown to Walter Peak on the vintage steamship TSS Earnslaw, morning or afternoon tea at the Colonel’s Homestead and a leisurely 40 minute guided horse trek.
After disembarking at Walter Peak, join our experienced guides for a leisurely ride along a peninsular trail across beautiful rolling terraces to a lookout with spectacular views of Lake Wakatipu and the surrounding mountains. The trek is fully guided in small groups, horses are saddled and bridled and riders are provided with riding helmets. Waterproof jackets are available in wet weather. Walter Peak Horse Treks are suitable for those with no previous riding experience.
Prices are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD). The tour is available 365 days a year.
Please note: Minimum age 7 years and minimum height 120 cms. A weight restriction of 100 kg per rider applies. Maximum group size of 6. Passengers are welcome to stay on at Walter Peak and connect with the next TSS Earnslaw sailing to Queenstown (2 hours later) or add on a BBQ Lunch.
What to Bring: Comfortable shoes, waterproof jacket, long trousers and warm clothing.
Morning/Afternoon Tea Menu: A country style morning or afternoon tea is served in the Colonel’s Homestead with scones, cakes and slices freshly baked at the farm. Tea, coffee and juice are included in the price of the excursion.
Café & Bar: A variety of food and beverages (including espresso coffee) is available for purchase on the TSS Earnslaw from the Promenade Café. Full bar services are available on the TSS Earnslaw as it cruises to and from Walter Peak and at the Colonel’s Homestead.
