23 kilometres off NZ's Tutukaka coast, just south of the Bay of Islands, this group of islands are a protected marine & nature reserve & world famous for spectacular diving, including the world's largest sea cave and an abundance of unique fish, animal and plant life. Jacques Cousteau rated the islands in the top ten dive sites in the world! Created about 10 million years ago from an enormous eruption, the dramatic cave and arch features are remnants of what was once a massive volcano.
